Kalahari Resorts and Conventions Founds ‘National Waterpark Day’

July 28 Marks Inaugural Official Holiday Created to Celebrate
Summer Fun

Wisconsin Dells, Wis. (July 27, 2017) — Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, home to America’s Largest Indoor Waterparks, partnered with National Day Calendar to officially recognize July 28 as National Waterpark Day. 2017 marks the inaugural recognition of the national holiday, and the family-owned resorts will celebrate at locations nationwide.

“Visiting a waterpark is a quintessential summer experience,” said Travis Nelson, spokesperson for Kalahari Resorts and Conventions. “We founded National Waterpark Day to commemorate the fun and lasting memories families create at our waterparks every summer.”

Guests visiting Kalahari Resorts in Wisconsin Dells, Sandusky, Ohio, or the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, on Friday, July 28, can expect a day full of fun activites including: on-site DJs to spin new and classic summer tunes, complimentary Kalahari Resorts and Conventions canteens for the first 600 guests, family poolside fun activities, delicious food and beverage specials, and more. Those interested in being a part of the first National Waterpark Day can check out deals on the company’s website.

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is home to America’s Largest Indoor Waterparks, outdoor waterparks, dry play activities including virtual reality attractions, escape rooms, indoor theme parks and more. The company recently welcomed new additions to each location including:

  • Sandusky, Ohio — Five new waterslides in the outdoor waterpark, including heart-pounding thrill rides and family raft rides
  • Wisconsin Dells — “The Smoke That Thunders,” a raft ride that lets up to four riders zip, zoom, twirl, slide and splash under the summer sun in the outdoor waterpark
  • Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania — Bugs Burrow, a mind-bending experience that offers kids the chance to imagine what it would be like if they were the size of a bug. The community of Bugs Burrow features a myriad of lovable cartoon insects and critters that welcome Kalahari’s smallest guests to splash, play and have fun.
